about

The Kala Solid Body UBasses has a distinct voice that inspires stories to be told through Music!

I wanted to write more music for the solid body UBass. The song started as a chord progression with descending chords played with a triplet rhythm throughout. An improvised melody was played and captured as a first play-through-take. The initial goal was to pick and choose parts of this improvised recording into a crafted melody but when revisiting the recording the goal changed. Instead of picking out parts, I decided to keep that first improvised recorded play-through.
The arrangement was then augmented with a fretless solid body UBass, Udo-drum, shakers, strings, and bowed upright bass.

This song and accompanying video will be released on April 2, 2021
